see.  ever since that “mud 5k” that i did?  i picked up a bad habit called “running”.  i run on the mean street that they like to call “wisconsin avenue NW”.  it’s really great running past sidwell friends & perusing all of the 17 year olds who could buy&sell you.  and running alll the way up to shopping mecca friendship heights, to that mythical land whose wares i cannot afford but do not much mind.  now i run in units that they call “miles”.  i run in the rain and i can’t see well because my eyelashes accrue precipitation.  sad little rain run girl.

i notice the dogs sitting in windows of art galleries and how the puff dandelions somehow don’t blow away in the rain.  today a man had to squeegee the parking meter screen with his finger in order to see how much time his quarter brought to him.  these things keep the pain at bay.

please don’t pity my face; this was how i was born.  my lips are curling in a natural affinity for the colt 45 that i bought for myself as a reward for running five miles.  i think my priorities are mixed up.
