these nostalgic nerds in russia have taken it upon themselves to open a museum in moscow.  it’s called The Museum of Soviet Arcade Games.  i can’t glean too much from the website because all of the juicy bits are in russian, but i greatly enjoy the facts that these games were made at secret military bases and that they operate with old kopek coins that feature the hammer and sickle.

this game, i think, has something to do with submarines.  this is the kind of severe game that would’ve sent me running to the hills in the early to mid 80s.  for some reason, the structure of the game makes me feel like if you play it, you enter into a deal with a high-tech devil for your life.  like j.j. in that 80s movie, the bishop of battle.

i picture ominous fog horns and stern soviet voices warning you of your imminent demise.
